During the hotter parts of the year I usually go riding my bike in the evening. We are about a half mile as the crow flies from the canal so it is a good place to ride. As you can see they have paved most of it so that riding and running are pretty smooth. Gilbert and Tempe have really dressed theirs up with lights for night riding, decorative walk ways, bridges over the canal, access from the neighborhoods, drinking fountains and places to sit and rest. Their schools and parks border the canal to add cool views as you ride along. The sunset was really quite pretty this evening.
